At the gates

  • “VIP” and “quick darshan” passes

Free VIP darshan passes given to trustees, officials and public representatives were being resold to pilgrims for a profit, sometimes for thousands of rupees. Some people were also let in through Nhani Gate without the required register entry.

What to do. Do not buy VIP or skip-the-queue slips from agents. Use the temple trust’s own donation darshan pass from the ground floor of the administrative building or from online.shrituljabhavani.org; the listed fee can change with season and crowd.

What to do. Book only on the trust site shrituljabhavani.org or online.shrituljabhavani.org. If you already paid a look-alike site, contact the temple trust. Do not scan QR codes sent on messages or social media.

Inside the complex

  • People posing as priests or guides

People pose as official temple priests, sometimes with fake identity cards, and take money for special darshan, abhishek or puja they are not licensed to perform.

What to do. Have rituals done only by priests who hold a permit from the temple trust. The trust has asked pilgrims not to accept offers from unknown or unofficial priests.

Parking and drop-off

  • “VIP” and “quick darshan” passes

At the Ghatshil Road parking lot, agents offer a paid “direct darshan,” take pilgrims into the temple, then leave them in the ordinary queue.

What to do. Ignore paid direct-darshan offers at the parking area. If you want a shorter wait, buy a darshan pass only from the temple trust’s own counters or official booking site.
