Raghunathji is the presiding deity of the Kullu valley and the focus of its famous Dussehra festival. The idol is said to have been brought from Ayodhya in the 17th century.
Installed by Raja Jagat Singh of Kullu in 1651 after a pilgrimage to Ayodhya.
