Yes. Wednesday (Budha rules vehicles and transport), Thursday (Brihaspati for prosperity), and Friday (Shukra for comfort and beauty) are considered the best days for vehicle purchases. Avoid Tuesday (Mars rules accidents) and Saturday (Saturn rules iron and delay). The time should avoid Rahu Kaal for that specific day.
Rohini is the most auspicious nakshatra for buying a new vehicle. Hasta, Pushya, Anuradha, Shravana, and Mrigashira are also excellent choices. These nakshatras are associated with smooth journeys, protection, and prosperity.
Before the first drive, a brief puja involves: placing fresh flowers and a coconut on the bonnet, lighting an incense stick, reciting the Ganesha mantra (Om Gam Ganapataye Namah) for obstacle removal, and the Surya mantra for safe journeys. Some families also have a priest perform a proper Vahan Puja with a kalash and specific mantras from the Atharva Veda for vehicle protection.
Absolutely. Rahu Kaal is the most important inauspicious period to avoid for ANY auspicious activity, including vehicle purchases. It varies daily by location and is approximately 90 minutes long. Check the Rahu Kaal for your specific city on the day of purchase. Similarly avoid Yamaganda Kaal and Gulik Kaal.
