    Around Vrindavan’s busy temples, including Prem Mandir, people approach pilgrims and offer to arrange darshan, a puja, or a quicker entry in return for money. Temple entry and the evening fountain show are not sold as tickets.

  • Crowd theft and snatching

    At a guest house facing Prem Mandir, a driver kept the passenger’s bag in the e-rickshaw while the group went inside to book a room, then drove off with it. The same gap appears whenever bags are left on a vehicle during check-in.

    What to do. Take every bag with you when you step out of an auto or e-rickshaw, even for a short counter visit. For lodging, use listed places such as the district Tourist Facilitation Centre rather than handing cash to a driver who offers a room.

  • Crowd theft and snatching

    In the crowds around Prem Mandir and other Vrindavan temples, phones, purses, and cash are taken from pockets and open bags. The risk is higher on weekends and festival evenings when people stand close in lines and gardens.

    What to do. Carry little cash, keep your phone and purse in a closed bag on your body, and do not leave valuables at the shoe counter. If something is taken, use the 24-hour help desk at the Vrindavan tourism police station.

  • Prices well above the going rate

    E-rickshaw and auto drivers in Vrindavan ask far more than the posted fare, especially from evening onward, and may refuse to move unless you hire the whole vehicle. The extra demand is highest after midnight on routes between stands, temples, and the expressway.

    What to do. Agree the fare before you sit, and use the district rates: about ₹60 a seat from the railway station to Vrindavan, and ₹10–₹20 a seat inside town. If a driver overcharges, ask at the 24-hour tourist help desk in the Vrindavan tourism police station.
