Vishnupad Temple
ફલ્ગુ નદીના કિનારે ભગવાન વિષ્ણુના પવિત્ર ચરણનું ગયા ધામ, જે પિંડદાન અને પૂર્વજો માટે શ્રાદ્ધનું કેન્દ્ર છે. વિષ્ણુપદ મંદિર ગયામાં ફલ્ગુ નદીના કિનારે આવેલું છે, જ્યાં ચાંદીથી મઢેલા કટોરામાં ખડકમાં સ્થાપિત ભગવાન વિષ્ણુનું લગભગ 40 સેમી લાંબું પવિત્ર ચરણ છે. માન્યતા મુજબ ભગવાન વિષ્ણુએ ગયાસુર રાક્ષસને વશ કરવા માટે અહીં પોતાનું ચરણ મૂક્યું હતું, અને આ ભૂમિ પૂર્વજો માટે પવિત્ર બની. ભારતભરમાંથી કુટુંબો પિંડદાન અને શ્રાદ્ધ કરવા આવે છે, જેથી પ્રિય આત્માઓને શાંતિ મળે. પ્રવાસ કરતાં પહેલાં હાલની પ્રવેશ અને વિધિની વ્યવસ્થાની સ્થાનિક રીતે ખાતરી કરાવી લેવી.
