An archana is an offering made in a devotee's name, with name, gotra and nakshatra spoken at the sanctum.
An archana is short. A priest takes the devotee's name, gotra and nakshatra to the sanctum, makes the offering in that name, and hands back the prasadam. It is the oldest way to be present at a temple you cannot reach. This page explains the offering. Temple World does not arrange archanas and takes no payment for them.
